BTS Annual Congress 2025

We are delighted to announce that the BTS NHSBT Annual Congress 2025 will take place from the 12 to 14 March at The Brighton Centre, Brighton.

The aim of the Congress is to unite clinicians, scientists, allied health professionals and all those interested in all aspects of organ donation and transplantation. We are putting together an exciting and stimulating programme, which we hope will appeal to everyone, combining expert clinical updates with the latest in laboratory science. The three-day meeting will attract around 650 delegates with an interest in all areas of organ donation, retrieval, and transplantation.

Help us to meet our sustainability promises by planning your route to Brighton using Route Zero.
NOTE: NHSBT invited guests will receive an alternative link from the ODT Congress team to register attendance.

The Headquarters Hotel is the Brighton Hilton Metropole. If you have difficulty booking your accommodation, please email delegates@visitbrighton.com.

BTS Dragons’ Den Research Application Submissions are invited for the BTS & NHSBT Dragons’ Den competition. The competition is open to medical and surgical trainees of all grades and early career researcher allied health professionals. Successful submissions will be presented on 14 March in Brighton.

The 2025 awards recognising excellence in Organ Donation and Transplantation will be presented at the BTS and NHSBT Joint Congress to be held on Wednesday 12th March.

Nominations are open from 7am on Friday 1st November until 5pm on Sunday 1st December 2024.

Nominees can be anyone working in the field of organ donation or transplantation, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. Nominations are welcome from clinical and lay people alike and there is no restriction to members or employees of any organisation. To nominate an individual or team, you will need to have their permission so that you can provide us with their contact details and so that we can let them know if they win or are highly commended.

This year there are twelve award categories:

  1. Exceptional NHSBT Team
  2. Excellence in Organ or Tissue Retrieval
  3. Excellence in Delivering Transplantation
  4. Excellence in Delivering Patient Care
  5. Excellence in Innovation or Research
  6. Excellence in Education
  7. Exceptional Clinical Lead for Organ Donation
  8. Exceptional Volunteer
  9. Exceptional Organ Donation Committee
  10. Exceptional Promotion Initiative
  11. Excellence in Organ Utilisation
  12. Unsung Hero award

No self-nominations will be allowed

Multiple nominations do not increase the chance of success. We therefore encourage individuals in the same centre/team/community to collectively nominate an individual rather than send in multiple nominations.

Nominations will be judged by a panel of clinicians, donor family, patient and lay representatives.
