This year’s Winter Ethics Symposium will be held online on Thursday 3 December and will be entitled ‘Inequalities in Transplantation’.
As we face the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, questions around equity of access to transplantation are becoming more important than ever. The programme will incorporate the Hoffenberg Memorial Lecture, and will examine issues including:
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on equality of access to healthcare
The impact of deprivation on health inequalities – and the duties of transplant professionals
Health inequalities in BAME communities, and institutional racism in the NHS
The role of organ allocation schemes in ensuring equity of access to transplantation
The meeting will be run using the Zoom platform. Please see participant guidelines to ensure the best audience experience.
