European Board of transplantation Medicine

First Announcement

The 4th Exam for awarding the European Diploma in Transplant Medicine is organised by the European Board of Transplant Medicine of the Division of Transplantation of the UEMS in collaboration with the European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT).

Application starts March 15th, 2019 and is opened for both Junior and Senior transplant physicians
Deadline for application is June 15th, 2019

Junior candidates
Junior transplant physicians should have minimal 2-year training in transplantation medicine for applying. Juniors should apply for the Common Transplantation Medicine Module together with one or more of the Organ Modules: Kidney, Pancreas, Liver and Intestinal/Multivisceral Transplantation. Courses with ESOT educational committee stamp are useful for the preparation of the EBTM exam.

Final examination of eligible candidates will take place in Copenhagen on 14th September 2019, the day before ESOT meeting.

Senior candidates
Senior transplant physicians with at least 10 years of continuous experience as specialists practicing in formal nationally recognized posts are eligible to apply for an Honorary Diploma and be exempted of the examination.

Seniors can apply for the following modules: Kidney, Pancreas, Liver and Intestinal/Multivisceral Transplantation.

5th ELPAT congress on Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of Transplantation

Date: 26-29 April 2019

The 5th ELPAT congress on Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of Transplantation will take place in Krakow, Poland , 26-29 April 2019.

The theme of this congress is ‘Developing Dialogue – Pioneering Practice’. This slogan reflects our aim to promote and facilitate in-depth discussion of the most challenging issues in transplant ethics, psychology and law. Through this platform for discussion we aim to promote and pioneer ethical clinical practice in the field of donation and transplantation. Key topics on the programme will include for example international kidney exchange, lessons learned from opting-out, VCA, and living donor organ banking.
