This is a two-day workshop designed to optimise the quality of organs offered for transplantation by improving retrieval practice.

The course is aimed at surgical trainees with an interest in abdominal (liver, pancreas, kidney) and cardiothoracic (heart, lung) organ donation and transplantation. It includes lectures and workshops together with practical demonstrations of relevant techniques involving all participants.

BTS Living Donor Forum & Winter Ethics Symposium 2018

BTSLivingDonorForum&WinterEthics2018

Thursday 15th November
Park Inn by Radisson, York

The BTS Living Donor Forum & Winter Ethics Symposium will come together in Autumn 2018 for a one day meeting on the theme of Directed Altruistic Living Donation.

For the first time ever the meeting will also incorporate the prestigious Hoffenberg Memorial Lecture, which commemorates Sir Raymond “Bill” Hoffenberg’s manifold contributions to medicine and in particular to clinical transplantation. The programme has been chosen to incorporate discussion and debate around the challenges of Directed Altruistic Living Donation, and will include contributions from clinicians and patients, as well as from non-profit organisations that promote living donation.

The meeting takes place on Thursday 15th November at the Park Inn by Radisson, York, and we anticipate that it will attract approximately 100-120 delegates from across the transplantation community.
